Close to 25,000 Lost Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Storms
Around 25,000 residences in Queensland's southeast woke up without power on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the region, generating wind gusts reaching 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Extensive Destruction
Residents reported large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair power throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews activated to address the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, nearly one thousand households in Victoria also encountered power outages after the capital city recorded its wettest day in 18 months.
Rescue organizations received over five hundred calls for help across the state, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

- Wyndham - over 175 help reports
At the height on yesterday, in excess of 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were lacking electricity.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
The following day was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with continued storm activity expected across different parts of both regions.

Public health experts alerted that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
